MCM Teen Filmmaking Volunteer Program

In this after school program, teens will earn volunteer hours learning how to shoot great professional videos from their mobile phone and DSLR camera.

This is an introduction to the basic technical knowledge you’ll need to shoot video on your mobile phone, as well as a DSLR camera. Teens will learn basic camera techniques to include framing your shot, lighting techniques and how to capture great sound for your project. We’ll take you through the entire process of planning the initial story, filming techniques and tips, as well as a step-by-step editing process using Adobe Premiere CC. No prior experience necessary to participate.

It’s recommended that teens have their mobile phones, but it is not a requirement. All equipment will be provided.
This program has been approved for Montgomery County Public School students to earn Student Service Learning (SSL) hours and is for students grades 8th -11th.

Please note: This volunteer opportunity is for MCM youth members. The annual membership for youth is $15 and can be paid for during registration. This fee helps support the maintenance of MCM’s equipment and facilities that are free for MCM members to use. There are no additional costs outside of membership to participate.
