DC Chinatown Celebrates the Year of the Rat on Sunday January 26th, 2020 at 2:00pm

The streets of DC’s Chinatown will fill up with revelers and spectators as the Chinese Consolidated Benevolent Association (CCBA) hosts the annual Chinese New Year parade. This year, 4718 in the Chinese Lunar Calendar, is the Year of the Rat, representing carefree fun, good fortune and wealth. Come early for a bite at one of the many local eateries and then grab your curb-side vantage point to witness the colorful pageantry to come. Take METRO to Gallery Place and avoid the driving/parking hassle.
An astounding array of parade groups will march through the streets of Chinatown ushering in the Chinese New Year. Traditional lions and dragons come to life. Bands of many types will fill the streets with a cacophony of sound. This year’s dynamic parade lineup continues to showcase the community’s vibrancy and inclusion.
